Problems Encountered

Problems Encountered

Cost of insurance but this was resolved by getting a quote from Barclycard insurance which was the same as Privilidge but with less to pay and only £100 excess

Engine knocking Noise(investigations are still onging). Cracked cylinder head, replaced under warrenty. Internal sunroof guides came out of tracks. Refitted myself N/S front headlight full of water. As lenses are polycarbonate I drilled a 2mm hole to allow water to drain out.I am waiting for warmer weather before I seal it.

lack of detail on the vehicle used the website and the owners handbook and extrapolated from other workshop manuals pumped information from a dealership that has a parts diagram and parts list

Engine needed rebuild, failed Emissions test when brought, even having a new MOT (got £1000 knocked off price). Had engine stripped & rebuilt, still having trouble with overheating at high revs/power. Had to fit rear fog lights, even though had current MOT. Fitted new radio, and your web had all the correct wiring colours - thanks!.

None yet but I've only had it a short time.

STARTER MOTOR FAILURE - REPAIRED BY OWNER

cracked windscreen[stone chip] front drivers 1/4 light broken during break in.All parts got with in a week and covered by insurance. Cracked exhaust manifold ,still waiting for gaskets 2 weeks? Rumble from front suspension possible shocks or bushings. Will look after it when exhaust is fixed.

Had a std UK previa Exhaust modified, very easily, saved approx £125.00

heater matrix leaked and had to be replaced in November(big job as whole dash has to come out).head gasket is now going to be replaced which also seems a big job.

None as yet

Diesel leak from pump, discovered after purchase of vehicle, Autoterminal sorted it out.

Starter motor failed. - repaired.

Windscreens - slowly! Front heater blower still unresolved.

SNAPED DRIVE SHAFT SECOND HAND SHAFT FITTED

engine has knock, rev related as per q+a your site still not resolved as very difficult to find.

Automatic Box changes down at the slightest touch of excelerator, causes high reving at high fuel usage. At the moment unresolved and need help badly.

The oil change light has just come on and I hope to use the solution found on this website to deal with it. I also discovered many answers to questions I had concerning buttons in the Previa.

My X Limited also has full carpet mats, Toyota monsoons sheilds on both front windows, 17" alloys.

Diesel leak from pump fixed by dealer

Fuel consumption currently at 19.5mpg need help. ticking over at 1500rpm?.

Not yet. Model I have is not contained within your drop down box.Toyota Estima Lucida S,2.4 petrol,4wd,

Starter solinoid repaired. Faulty brass washer. common fault. new cost £600 . repaired 2hours cost £35

oil leak between engine andb gearbox.....oilseal fitted weak suspension...replacement rear springs constructed and fitted...still cant get stronger rear shocks

none so far.

intermitent starting had starter overhauled problem still there changed battery problem gone

I need the front suspension changed, and Toyota have sent the wrong size for one side.Import Solutions are trying to solve the problem, but I have been waiting now since November!

Apart from having a good handbook, written entirely in Japanese, which we can't understand - no problems yet!

Rear Shock Absorber Bushes - Replacement Underheating - Replacement of Thermostat

Starting Problem - still outstanding Clicking on slow motion full-lock manouvering - replaced top mounts(bearing cages had rusted away) Rattle from rear axle area - replaced bush on rear axle mounting

After I had oil changed the oil level light would come on and flash when the engine was warm. I had asked the garage to drain the whole system, including the front header tank before refilling with synthetic oil. Although both the sump and header tank were filled to the correct levels around 1 litre of oil had drained into the sump from the header tank. This was only trggering the high level alarm when hot probably due to expansion. The garage removed 1 litre of oil which solved the problem.

Two turbo lights under the speedo, one green the other orange .Under hard acceleration the green one will go out and the orange light will stay on until the engine is switched off and then restarted. Any ideas on the problem and how to fix this ? . Thanks. Great site.

1. Engine warning lights up and unresolved 2. Radiator warning lights up and unresolved

Air con not working, repaired by local air con workshop. Appears to have a very high mileage compaired to several others in the Barrow-in-Furness area, an Urban cycle, approx 15mpg and about 20mpg on a run. Is this normal, as dealer thinks this is very high for its type.?

Many minor problems - eg. front sunroof blind not working, odometer not converted, hot/cold box faulty, etc All corrected by dealer from whom I purchased the vehicle.

The vehicle has 'diesel knock' that I believe is piston rattle on one cylinder. As yet to be sorted!

Radio only had radio2 - so installed new unit (Waveband expanders do not work very well) - In the process purchased very useful patch lead to convert from Toyota/Japanese radio to standard UK interface - £15 well spent !!

none really except for the wait for it to arrive from newcastle

where to obtain filters etc. for routine servicing?
